Presenter Natuza Nery made an explosion of emotion this Thursday (12/25) during the 6 p.m. edition of the GloboNews channel over the death of Tainara Souza Santos, 31 years old. She died after spending 25 days in Hospital das Clínicas de São Paulo after being run over and dragged by 26-year-old Douglas Alves da Silva.
Look:
“She was missing part of her back because the friction on the asphalt had torn it off. Unconsciously, she was protecting her private part. This really silenced me. We must teach our children to never attack and women to never forgive”

Ventilated
Natuza Nery opened her heart and pointed out that apart from the brutality of the crime, one point in particular caught her attention. “In Tainara’s story, there is a point that struck me (…) In a brutal way, he showed me or reaffirmed what it means to be a woman in a violent country like Brazil,” the journalist began.
“Someone is filming Tainara already lying on the asphalt, the monster that did this to her had escaped, and she was not wearing the lower part of her clothes, because it was torn off while rubbing against the asphalt, she was filmed and she is responsive, someone tells her that help will arrive, and the lower part is exposed,” Natuza continued.

Instinct
The Globo presenter then says that Tainara had an unconscious feeling of protection. “And she, without any part of her back, because the skin was torn off on the asphalt, with both hands she covers her private part. This really silenced me, in addition to the brutality. Unconsciously, she protected her private part so that it was not exposed,” he emphasized.
Natuza Nery continued her report. “So the only word I have, to see if we can improve, is that we remember that we must teach our sons every day to never attack a woman, and our daughters to never forgive aggression. Otherwise, we will continue to be the 5th most violent country in the world towards women,” he concluded.
