Grêmio has made progress in negotiations to reach an agreement for a new main sponsor in recent days. The club is in ongoing talks with four companies to fill the gap. In negotiations with a company to occupy the main space on the jersey, the club’s new management hopes to reach a positive outcome in the coming days, even before 2026.
According to information from the “Zero Hora” portal, the task of meeting this challenge falls to the new CEO of Immortal, Alex Leitão. The manager has expertise in finance and marketing; He therefore understood that the ideal would be to broaden the possibilities and not focus solely on partnerships with bookmakers.
The objective of the Tricolor Rio Grande do Sul in signing a partnership with the main partner of its jersey is to reach an agreement that exceeds the R$50 million, which it would receive from Alfa, the former main sponsor. The bookmaker entered a financial crisis and was unable to fulfill the contract. In fact, the monthly sponsorship payment was delayed by three months.
This situation was detrimental to Grêmio, which chose to terminate the contract early. The intention is to have a new main sponsor at the start of the season. Imortal’s first engagement will take place in the first round of the Campeonato Gaúcho.
The trend is for the opening round of the tournament to take place between January 10 and 11. The club is doing everything it can to prevent the leak of the names of the companies it negotiates with and has so far managed to keep the identity of the candidates confidential.
Grêmio announces new coach
Grêmio confirmed last Friday evening (12) the hiring of coach Luís Castro. The 64-year-old Portuguese arrives to replace Mano Menezes and has signed with the Rio Grande do Sul club until the end of 2027, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year.
This will be the coach’s second stint in Brazilian football. After all, Castro led Botafogo through 2022 and 2023. In the final year, he left Alvinegro as head of Brasileirão to take over Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr.
