The Portuguese has signed with Tricolor until the end of 2027 and will make his second stint in Brazilian football
Grêmio confirmed on Friday evening (12) the hiring of coach Luís Castro. The 64-year-old Portuguese arrives to replace Mano Menezes and has signed with the Rio Grande do Sul club until the end of 2027, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year.

After that, the Portuguese continued to work in Al Wasl, United Arab Emirates, where he stayed until July this year.
The agreement between Grêmio and the coach was already finalized since Thursday (11), when both parties exchanged documents for analysis. The club sent the contract on Thursday afternoon to Brazil and the Portuguese signed it this Friday.
Luís Castro arrives at the Tricolor with a technical committee of six people. Assistants Vítor Severino and Pedro Mané, goalkeeping coach Daniel Correia, performance analyst Nuno Baptista and physical trainers Nuno Cerdeira and Roberto Júnior. The latter, who played for Flamengo, is the only Brazilian in the group, which includes five Portuguese players.
