Grêmio achieved a victory in court by obtaining suspension effects and the requirement to field left-back Marlon and defender Kahneman against Fluminense. The duo’s return to the starting lineup will be possible after the Supreme Court of Sport Justice (STJD) accepts the club’s request. “On Monday afternoon, Gremio obtained a suspension ruling before the Supreme Court of Sporting Justice, with regard to the rulings applied to athletes Marlon and Kahneman and football director Guto Peixoto, following complaints about the events of the match against Bragantino, in the 27th round of the Brazilian Championship.

The penalties were imposed on Gremio representatives by decision of the Fifth Disciplinary Committee. The sentence has now been suspended, pending the final ruling by the Full Court of this High Court, with no date yet to be set.

This way, the athletes and the technical director can perform their duties in the next two rounds of the national competition.”

Marlon and Kahneman received a punishment from the STJD for the events that occurred in the duel against Bragantino, at the beginning of October. The husband was punished for his anti-arbitration statements. Thus, the full-back received two penalty kicks, while the Argentine defender received one.

Rio Grande do Sul Tricolor will not suffer the suspension of Amuzu and Carlos Vinicius for a third yellow card. Thus, Andre Henrique will take over the starting position as a central striker.
