The Minister of the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, Guilherme Boulos, once again defended, this Saturday (13/12) the end of the 6×1 scale, which according to him is a demand of the people.
Boulos said the issue should not be treated as an ideological conflict, but as a question of humanity.
“Six days of work for one day of rest is not reasonable. It should not even be a question of left or right. It is a question of humanity,” he said during the “Governo do Brasil nas Ruas” event, held in the Sol Nascente region, in the Federal District.

In view of the 2026 elections, Lula toughens his defense of the end of the 6×1 scale
According to Boulos, the subject is under discussion in the National Congress and its approval is a priority for the government of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). This week, the text was approved by the Constitution and Justice Commission and must now be analyzed in plenary.
The minister also indicated that he had participated in a public hearing in the Chamber of Deputies with representatives of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and the National Confederation of Commerce (CNC).
“We presented our position and listened to their position. Today, President Lula was elected by the people and obtained 60 million votes to defend the interests of the workers of Brazil,” he said.
For Boulos, the scale of six days of work for one day of rest “is not reasonable” and should be reviewed.
The CNI sees with concern the end of the 6×1 scale
During a press conference last Wednesday (10/11), the president of the CNI, Ricardo Alban, declared that Brazil does not yet have the necessary conditions to move forward in this discussion.
For him, the country must further improve the availability of labor. When asked when the country would reach these conditions, he replied that “maybe in 2027 or 2028.”
“Whatever the remuneration, what most dignifies a human being is the possibility of being part of society through the labor market,” argued Alban.
He also indicated that the CNI considers with concern the possible excesses of populism committed during the electoral period, in reference to the agenda on a 6×1 scale.
The Brazilian government in the streets
The event promoted by the Federal Government takes place this Saturday in Sol Nascente, in the Federal District, and offers several activities aimed at the population, such as the expertise of the INSS, the settlement of outstanding issues with the State, the vaccination of animals and the opening of registrations for individual microentrepreneurs (MEI).
The idea is that this event will take place in around 27 cities and in the main capitals of the country in 2026, in the presence of President Lula in particular.
