The driver Agustín Canapino (Chevrolet) won his fifth road tourism title by winning the first qualifying series of the final date of the Gold Cup at the Autódromo Roberto José Mouras in La Plata.
The driver from Arrecifes took first place almost without incident and confidently won the TC championship, which he led for most of the season.
The Camaro driver came to this final date of the season with a very good lead of 57.5 points over his companion Santiago Mangoni (Chevrolet). This is largely due to the solidity they showed in the final stages of the year, winning five of the last seven dates.
The Chevrolet Camaro driver was accompanied in the first series by Jeremías Olmedo with his Ford and Germán Todino, also with a Ford, completed the podium.
One of the pursuers, Matías Rossi (Toyota), was fourth, while Santiago Mangoni and Marcos Landa (both with Camaro) are not in the top 16.
This win puts Canapino at the top of the Gold Cup with 199.5 points, 68 points ahead of Mangoni, who finished this first series with 131.5 points, and Rossi just behind with 131.25.
Canapino won five road tourism championships (2010, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2025), only one place behind the historic Ford and Chevrolet driver Juan María Traverso, who won them six times (1977, 1978, 1995, 1996, 1997 and 1999) and twice behind Guillermo Ortelli, another Chevy Idol, with seven (1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2008 and 2011).
