The Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, said this Friday (12) that the economy can never be a problem for the re-election of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
Haddad, Planning Minister Simone Tebet and Vice President Geraldo Alckmin were honored at a Prerrogativas Group event in São Paulo.
President Lula and Secretary of Institutional Relations Gleisi Hoffmann were also present.
In their speeches, the ministers and the vice-president praised the government. Haddad said he would quote the president who gave a speech at the inauguration of SBT News hours before the Grupo Prerrogativas event.
According to Haddad, the president looked at São Paulo Governor Tarcisio Freitas, who was in the audience, and said that all the predictions made to economists at the beginning of the year did not come true and that what worked was Brazil’s economy.
For Haddad, whoever bet against Brazil was wrong.
Simone Tebet, also present at the Prerogativas event, said she would be on the presidential platform next year.
She said she supported Lula in 2022 because she was against Jair Bolsonaro, who was defeated in the second round, but that there is now a convergence “due to economic policy and social policies”.
Alckmin said democracy “does good for the economy,” GDP and the stock market have increased, and unemployment and inflation have decreased.
