“He is determined to stay in power”

For Vicente Vallés, Leire Diezknown for his maneuvers aimed at discrediting the commanders of the Civil Guard and attempting to interfere in judicial investigations, among others, is one of the “extravagant characters who became famous under the government of Pedro Sánchez“.

“Leire Díez turned out to be a box of surprises,” says Vallés, while insisting that the reason for his arrest, the alleged crimes mentioned above, constitute another case that he has already opened for months. The other detainee, Vicente Fernández, is also considered one of Finance Minister María Jesús Montero’s confidants.

Vallés explains that “this new problematic episode for Moncloa” joins the conviction of the Attorney General, the cases of sexual harassment and the Koldo case, as well as “the Government in a clear parliamentary minority; and without budget. With all this, Vallés, to decide his opinion, said what many think about the position of Pedro Sánchez in the midst of all these scandals: “Pedro Sánchez is determined to stay in power, whatever happens”.

On the morning of this Thursday, the UCO also arrested Antxon Alonso, partner of Servinabar and personal friend of the former number three of the PSOE, Santos Cerdán, for allegations of irregularities in public contracts.
