Multiple deaths, dozens of injured and two attackers killed, such is the terrible toll of a deadly shooting that occurred this Sunday. against bathers on a beach in Sydney, Australia. Events for which the country’s Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, expressed his “condolences” in light of the “shocking and distressing” scenes that the attack left behind and which shocked the country.
Among these scenes is that of a man who was present at the scene and who approaches one of the attackers. As if he were a hero, he manages to grab him from behind and take his gun away and this despite the fact that the second attacker continues to shoot from another direction.
As footage of the shooting shows, after removing the weapon, what appears to be a shotgun, he points it at the attacker himself then decides to leave it on the ground. The attacker, for his part, flees and begins walking towards the place where the second author of what happened is located.
After that, this second attacker continues shooting, so the initial hero hides behind a tree. In the images you can see how it is attacked in one arm and collapses to the ground.
The events occurred at Bondi Beach this Sunday, around 6:45 p.m. local time —8:45 a.m. Spanish Peninsula time—, when emergency services went to the area near this beach after receiving reports of gunshots.
Local police officers also attended the scene and located several suspicious objects which “they are examined by specialized agents and an exclusion zone was established,” police reported. In addition, the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah was celebrated there, although Australian authorities have not yet directly linked the event to these events.
