This Monday, the Ministry of Health managed to reach a preliminary agreement with the unions present at the negotiation table of the framework status (CCOO, UGT, CSIF, Satse-FSES and Cig-Saúde), so that they cancel the indefinite strike that they had planned for the end of January.
This was reported by ministerial and union sources after the meeting they had since this morning with the Minister of Health, Mónica García, who called them last Friday to ask if she would withdraw the framework bill as requested by the PP communities.
The preliminary agreement reached includes union demands such as a 35-hour work week and progress in partial and early retirement.
On November 15, almost three thousand doctors took to the streets again in Madrid to demand their own status that recognizes the unique nature of their work, which includes an appropriate professional classification, that they contribute to the pension for on-call hours and that the weekly working time be reduced to reconcile work and private life, among other measures.
Just after the December long weekend, doctors across Spain began their third strike of the year against the new framework statute to demand their own, which recognizes their particularities.
