A motorist ended up falling into the reflecting pool of the National Museum of the Republic on Tuesday afternoon (12/9). Information from the Federal Road Traffic Department (Detran) revealed that the driver’s vision was compromised due to heavy rain.

In a video obtained by Metropolises it is possible to see the vehicle engulfed by water. Detran reported that at the time of the accident it was raining heavily, causing the water level to be equal to that of the road, “wiping out” the water surface demarcation and making it impossible for the driver to see.
Despite the worrying toll, no one was injured and there was no material damage. The removal was carried out using a private tow truck. The agency confirmed that the vehicle had permission to operate in the Museum area, as it was part of the team producing the events taking place in the space.
