The last week of spring 2025 begins with a warning of potential danger of intense rains in the state of São Paulo, according to Inmet (National Institute of Meteorology). Summer starts next Sunday (21).
According to the federal agency linked to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, it is possible this Monday (15) accumulations of up to 50 mm of rain in 24 hours, with intense winds of up to 60 km/h. However, the risks of power outages, falling tree branches, flooding and electric shocks are low.
It is expected to rain in the São Paulo metropolitan area, mainly in the afternoon.
But despite very cloudy skies and relative humidity above 60%, there will be no cooling. According to forecasts, temperatures could reach 30°C in the afternoon in the capital São Paulo. The minimum forecast is 19°C.
According to the CGE (Emergency Management Center), of the São Paulo City Hall), the spread of a cold front favors the return of widespread rains this week.
The heat is expected to persist on Tuesday (16), also with a predicted maximum of 30°C. The trend is that it rains less.
Wednesday and Thursday, the maximums should drop to 25°C. Large amounts of rain are also not forecast.
CROSS-COUNTRY
In Santos, in the Baixada Santo region, it is also expected to rain in the afternoon of this Monday and the maximum temperature could reach 31°C.
On the north coast, thermometers should be around 30°C, but the forecast calls for the possibility of rain throughout the day.
The yellow warning of potential danger of intense rains from Inmet concerns all of Rio Grande do Sul, part of Paraná, the entire region of the Southeast, Center-West and part of the North and Northeast.
According to the Climatempo agency, in Rio Grande do Sul, the formation of the cold front is expected to cause heavy rains.
In the southeast, in addition to São Paulo, rain is expected to extend to Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and the south and interior of Espírito Santo.
In the northeast, rains are expected to be heavier in Maranhão and Paiuí, as well as in the western part of Bahia, according to Climatempo.
