English Lando Norris (McLaren) was proclaimed the new Formula 1 world champion this Sundayby finishing third in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the last of the year, won on the Yas Marina circuit by quadruple Dutch world champion Max Verstappen (Red Bull).
Norris, 26, became the eleventh British driver to win the Formula 1 world championship, in whose history he succeeded Verstappen, champion of the previous four editions; after finishing third in a race that his teammate, Australian Oscar Piastri, finished second; and the double Asturian world champion Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), sixth.
The other Spaniard, Carlos Sainz (Williams) – the first partner Norris had in F1, when he made his debut in 2019 at McLaren – I conclude the thirteenth in Abu Dhabi, where Argentinian Franco Colapinto (Alpine) finished twentieth.
But beyond sport, attention was also focused on the Spanish-Cuban actress Ana de Armas, who attended the paddock and the grand prize stands.
Wearing skinny pants, the artist was spotted throughout the weekend in Saudi Arabia, but it wasn’t until this Sunday that she could be seen really enjoying the sport.
Much commented on, they are images in the Ferrari box with Lewis Hamiltonwhere the British driver explains how certain elements of the sport work, such as the steering wheel.
