
A 34-year-old man was arrested by the Paraná Civil Police (PCPR) on suspicion of subjecting his partner to torture and kidnapping and attempting to kill her. The arrest took place on Thursday (11/12), in Pinhais, in the metropolitan region of Curitiba. He was also charged with illegal possession of ammunition and anabolic steroids.
According to the investigation, the victim, aged 24, sought a police unit after being attacked on December 7 this year.

She said that at the time she was held in a private prison and tortured for approximately 12 hours, being the target of punches, kicks, hair pulling, slippers, insults and death threats. The attacks only stopped when she managed to flee the residence.
Continued attacks
Before this episode, on December 3 and 4, the woman was also allegedly attacked. In one such incident, his head was hit against a mirror, causing him to temporarily lose vision and hearing on his right side.
The victim also indicated that, on November 11, she had already suffered a new episode of torture and threats from the suspect. At the time, she was also the victim of sexual abuse and had all her work equipment destroyed.
According to the report, the actions were motivated by jealousy and the victim was forced to ask the attacker for permission to post photos or videos on his social media.
“We work daily to hold perpetrators of violence against women accountable for their actions. This case demonstrates the importance of reporting and the commitment of our team to interrupt cycles of aggression and protect victims,” underlined Lucas Maia, PCPR delegate.
On the facts, the PCPR represented preventive detention, authorized by the Court. At the time of the arrest, police located anabolic steroids and firearm ammunition, which led to the arrest.
The suspect was transferred to the prison system.
