Does a New Year’s Eve combining relaxation at the spa and the frenzy of shows and fireworks by the sea seem too contrasting to you? What if, in addition to that, there was a space for children’s entertainment?
The combo seems unusual, but it is less than 100 km from the capital São Paulo, at the Casa Grande Hotel, in Guarujá (SP).
In addition to supervision from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., children have access to the Children’s Park which includes a heated swimming pool, a slide and a bucket of water, tree climbing, climbing, a mini racing cart track and inflatable toys.
However, it is important to pay attention to opening hours, because not all activities are open all the time. When it rains, the options are limited to playing in the games room with monitors and in the space with indoor toys and mini-city.
To take a break from the energy-demanding attractions, character shows, a movie theater, library, and children’s restaurant are available.
When the sky doesn’t help, in the morning only, children can accompany their parents in the spa’s heated swimming pool. After 12 p.m., no child throws water in the air.
“Guests want to relax in warm water after a massage,” says Lourival de Pieri, vice president of Casa Grande.
He says the space served as a weight-loss spa for years, but he said goodbye to restrictive diets and focused on rest and beauty treatments. In addition to the swimming pool and two jacuzzis, there is a sauna and more than 20 rooms for massages and aesthetic and relaxing treatments.
Zen body and mind and entertained children, it’s party time: for New Year’s Eve, cocktails are planned in the outdoor swimming pool, fireworks, balloons so that guests can write their wishes and shows with Tiago Abravanel, band and DJ until the early morning.
The hotel, which hosted the Belgian team during the 2014 World Cup, politicians and even Maradona and his gang, offers 268 accommodations, including suites and chalets for families.
Rates include breakfast only or half board (breakfast and dinner).
For lunch, the option is to seek out somewhere in the city – well-served fish dishes are easily found – or visit one of the hotel’s five restaurants, open to non-guests: Vila Rica (Italian), Sushi Bar (Japanese), Thai (Thai), Colonial Café (quick snacks) and Atlântico Frutos do Mar.
A beach club on Enseada Beach, opposite the hotel, completes the list of separately paid attractions.
For New Year’s Eve (from December 29 to January 1), the package for a couple with a child up to 12 years old costs from R$13,080 (with coffee, dinner and New Year’s Eve dinner with all types of drinks included. At Christmas, from December 23 to 26, prices start from R$7,251.
