Palmeiras and Corinthians take the field this Sunday 14, in Canindé, for the second leg of the Paulistão women’s final, after Verdão won 5-1 in the first duel. More than the trophy, the Derby is worth a reward in the champion’s coffers.
In the current edition of the competition, the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) rewards the champion with a bonus of R$840,000, while the runner-up pockets R$350,000. The amounts are in addition to the additional R$275,000 paid to each of the eight clubs at the start of the tournament.
Of these R$275,000, R$175,000 corresponds to the participation quota of the first phase and R$100,000 as a bonus for the commercial success of the competition, which brought together 11 sponsors.
With the title prize and bonuses, the Paulistão women’s champion will finish the competition with a total of R$1.1 million, while the runner-up will take home R$625,000 for her domination.
The amount, however, is still much lower than that which was paid this year to the men’s champion from Paulistão. By beating Palmeiras and lifting the trophy, Corinthians received a prize of 5 million reais.
In addition to the bonus value for the champion, Corinthians, Palmeiras, Santos and São Paulo received 44 million reais for participating in the competition. In other words, Timão ended the Paulistão with a total of 49 million reais raised.
