Vanessa Hudgens will be 37 years old this December 14. And, among so many chapters in her career—from Disney musicals to independent cinema—one specific episode remains as a turning point in her personal life: the moment she realized she not only believed in the supernatural, but was part of it.
The story, told by herself in interviews and in the documentary “Dead Hot,” began almost by chance. Or better yet: on the set of one of the films in Netflix’s “The Princess and the Commoner” trilogy. “I was filming ‘The Princess and the Commoner’ 2 or 3 and I had my first conscious awakening to witchcraft,” revealed the actress in an interview with the vehicle inStyle in 2023. It was there, between cameras, makeup and costume changes, that something was reorganized.
“I always felt connected”
Vanessa never hid that the subject was already around her. “I always felt really connected in a way that I could never explain,” she confessed, remembering the first feelings that preceded this process.
But what was only a vague intuition became a concrete certainty when she began reading the stories of women accused of witchcraft. “I was learning the history of women who were wrongly accused of witchcraft and learning what witchcraft really is,” he said.
The actress says she tried to talk about these perceptions with a few friends – not many, because “I certainly didn’t talk about it with everyone” – but nothing compared to the meeting she had with a professional makeup artist…
