This Tuesday, the Court of Justice of Bahia accepted the appeal which called into question the jury’s decision. According to information from G1, the prosecution claims that the acquittal would have contradicted the evidence presented throughout the process. Thus, a new trial will be scheduled, but the influencer’s defense will appeal.
This Wednesday (10), Iuri Sheik published a video complaining about the new decision. The influencer’s Instagram is closed, but the video was republished by several Bahia pages.
In his speech, he claims that he has no negative history, but now “they want to make a saint out of a criminal bum.” Furthermore, he stated that he did not regret this matter.
—If you ask me, do you feel the other side? I feel it, because it’s a family pain. They are right. But I’m not going to lie to you here and say I didn’t kill. I killed, but I killed like a man. Would you do it again? If it was to defend my life, my physical integrity, my family, I would do it 10 times — declared the influencer, who claims self-defense. — If someone comes and tries to harass you, looks for trouble, chases you to your car and puts a collar on you to kill you. And he pulls the gun towards you, drag it and throw it at him first. Don’t even go to jail, but be a man. I acted like a man in self-defense. I went there, I proved my self-defense, but they overturned the jury.
The affair occurred on June 23, 2019, during the São João celebrations in Recôncavo Baiano. From the start, the influencer claimed self-defense and said he felt threatened until he killed William de Oliveira with his own businessman’s gun.
