More than social cinema to define “La Dette”, his most ambitious project, Dani talks about the emotions, feelings and humanity of the characters who play in it: “They are love stories. AND love is what really moves the world. It’s loving and making you feel loved … . There is nothing more beautiful than finding someone who completes you, who adds, who highlights the best of your personality. Of course, to love someone well, you must first you must know yourself welli love you. This does not mean that you completely give your life to the other, you need your space, your moments of solitude to grow.
With the housing problem as a backdrop, his film shows different signs of love while reflecting “the truth through a look close to reality, but from a fiction centered on people of different generations who seek affection, develop with pride and dignity, also with humor, in a sometimes hostile world”.
It is clear that he is a romantic in the broadest sense of the expression: “I am one at work, because I take risks which have led me to get into economic debt and emotionally. In fact, now I feel recovery processquestioning myself about the implementation without clearly knowing if the result obtained in the end is what the project deserves. I am romantic because I love and believe in cinema. And I am personally, because I love the little details, making every day with my partner something special, different.
Her heart has had three great loves, including the one she lives happily at the moment, but she also recognizes the imprint of other feminine figures: “I owe a large part of what I am now to the women who marked my life. My mother, my grandmother, my three partners, all shaped my character, they discovered a more interesting world for me, they helped me generate tools or have thoughts to feel and better understand what surrounds me.
Members of the Cinema Academy have until January 8 to choose among the 123 fictions which will compete in the gala which Luis Tosar And Rigoberta Bandini They will present on February 28. And Dani is in the middle of campaigning for “La Dette” to enter the race: “These are the prices I believe in the most. Besides personal recognition, nominations can give you second business opportunity“. The film had 120,000 spectators, but at each conference I see how it connects with the public. The filmmaker aspires to break with trends that focus attention on only a few titles: “There is a part of the specialized press that creates trends with events that concentrate nominations and awards. This demotivates me. The truth is that films are not alone, they arrive after overcoming a series of obstacles, such as their distribution, the release date, their publicity in the media… It’s not that I lack critical sense and I cling to it, but I think that deserves recognition. And I trust the judgment of academics.
Dani recognizes that, from his personality, he would highlight the intellectual restlessness, which leads him to be in constant learning, and the physical restlessness, to which he indulges for two reasons: “Apart from the fact that I really like sport, on the one hand it helps me to connect with myself and, on the other hand, to disconnect from all that noise that surrounds it. I continue to play football, climb, surfboard in the summer and snowboard in the winter. I also like skateboarding. Likewise, he recognizes after conducting an internal examination that he should soften other traits: “I’m too stubborntoo stubborn, and sometimes I have difficulty accepting other points of view. I would also like the work not to take up too much time, because I want to learn to enjoy life more. The problem is that in my case work is my passionmy vocation, and that makes me so happy that I give myself to it.
You might think that as an artist, Dani would be more inclined to improvise on a daily basis, but when he becomes a producer, things change: “I have a strict scheduleI am very organized and disciplined. But for the rest I try to improvise as much as possible, to let things flow, that’s where my impulsive side appears. You only live once and time passes faster than it seems. Deep down, he has the soul of an adventurer, as demonstrated by his 30 years of free travel with his caravan: “I like not knowing the destination because that’s not where the pleasure lies, it’s in the journey itself, letting yourself be surprised, in the fact that everything is organic, enjoying each of the steps you take, the places you discover. The same thing happens to me when I make a film, because where I’m really happy is in the process, in its creation. This is the real adventure“.

An “Earth, swallow me” moment: “A message sent by mistake to the wrong recipient in which he was talking about this person to another.”
A sacrifice for glory: “Go unnoticed and enjoy intimacy in many moments.”

Are you afraid of: “Don’t worry or lose your senses, even if the worst thing would be to stop laughing.”
Something that cannot be missing in your daily life: “Laugh.”
His first kiss: “It was the first time I was aware of being connected to another body. “It was a very special feeling.”
In 10 years we see: “I’m a punk, I don’t believe in the future. “I live in the present, here and now, so I have no intention of visualizing myself tomorrow.”
Little Dani: “He was a restless child, with a lot of hopes, a lot of energy, very open and sociable. I was a street person, although as an only child, I went through a stage where I locked myself in my room alone and made my films. My time at school was complicated because I couldn’t sit still for eight hours, so I was somewhat problematic and unmanageable. “I ran away from classrooms because I felt out of place and unable to adapt.”
