The president of the Legislative Assembly of Rio (Alerj), Rodrigo Bacellar (União Brasil), admitted, in a statement to the federal police, to having spoken with Tiego Raimundo dos Santos Silva, known as TH Jóias, on the eve of the operation targeting the parliamentarian. The information was revealed on Sunday by Fantástico, which showed excerpts of the statement made at the PF headquarters in Rio, where Bacellar is still in prison. To the delegate, he denied having informed the MP of this action, but stated that the latter had approached him to discuss it.

According to Bacellar, on the eve of the operation, which took place on September 3, TH Jóias approached him at the Palácio Tiradentes and asked him to speak privately.
“And he goes there to Tiradentes, asks to speak to me alone, in a corner, tells me what I told you: do you know anything about an operation for me tomorrow? I said: I don’t know anything. For three days already, rumors were running around the house, that there would be a problem this week for a deputy. (…) You know better than anyone that I would never call someone, even with a good institutional relationship, to ask or try to embarrass someone in the civil service and say: tell me if there is “It will be an operation, but there are rumours. Where there is smoke, there is fire,” Bacellar told PF.
He then reported what he had replied to the deputy:
“Then he said: No, great. I don’t know what I’m going to do, I don’t know if I’m going to leave. I said: it’s up to you. If I were in your place, I would only worry about your little girl, you understand? Now you have to know what you are doing or what you are not doing. You keep insisting to me that there is nothing! ” Bacellar said.
Arrest of Alerj president
Bacellar was arrested last Wednesday by the Federal Police, accused of obstructing the investigation, suspected of having leaked data on the agents’ operation against State Deputy Thiego Raimundo dos Santos Silva, known as TH Jóias. The Alerj president, according to a PF report, warned his parliamentary colleague of the arrest, with instructions to get rid of evidence, such as deleting cell phone data.
TH Jóias faces charges of drug trafficking, corruption, money laundering and gang formation, in addition to being suspected of mediating arms negotiations with the Comando Vermelho (CV). The arrest was ordered by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), where the case is pending.

On September 3, TH Jóias was arrested in a luxury condominium in Barra da Tijuca, western zone of Rio, accused of drug trafficking, corruption, money laundering and arms trafficking on behalf of the Red Command. According to the investigation, TH Jóias used his mandate in Alerj to promote organized crime. He is accused of having served as an intermediary in the purchase and sale of drugs, rifles and anti-drone equipment intended for the Complexo do Alemão, in addition to having appointed to a parliamentary position the wife of Gabriel Dias de Oliveira, the indio do Lixão — identified as a drug trafficker and also arrested.

At the time, 18 preventive arrest warrants were issued, of which 15 were actually executed, in addition to 22 search and seizure warrants, with actions in Barra da Tijuca, Freguesia, in the West zone, and in Copacabana, in the South zone. In Alerj, federal police officers and prosecutors recovered a bag of seizures.
