A small piece of the Christmas Lottery Gordo comes from the Leonese town from La Bañeza to Seville. 79432, which did not want to go through Andalusia, traveled the peninsula from north to south via four tenths … who made two Sevillians happy this December 22. Their names are Carlos and Pablo, and they both attended this morning in this newspaper in which they brought the joy that thousands of Spaniards dreamed of.
How did the tenth Gordo go from a town of barely 10,000 inhabitants in the province of León to the capital Seville? Carlos tells it: “I work in a security company from Seville which has numerous sales throughout Spain. I buy a tenth everywhere I goand this year there were around twenty, counting only the trips: Barcelona, Asturias, León…«. It turns out that Pablo asked him for a tenth of one of these destinations, La Bañeza being the one that brought him in the summer, paid accordingly. Now they are both celebrating winning El Gordo.
Thus, the classic “What if it played here?” has become a reality for these Sevillians who are going to experience a very special Christmas. If Pablo has a tenth, his brother bought three in total: “One for me and my wife, one for my mother-in-law and one for the wife”. association ‘Los kittens de Nía’, a protector of cats non-profit which draws a tenth of the Christmas lottery every year via Facebook. The entire price is donated to this charity for exotic and sick cats or its members.

The brothers, who they continue “with great fanfare”they had started the day with complete normality. Pablo had a cocao for breakfast at home with his girlfriend like every morning while watching the draw on television. “When we saw the completion, we thought we got what we signed up for, but then I started shaking.” When it was confirmed that they held a tenth with the winning number, euphoria was unleashed. “It’s not possible, I couldn’t believe it.” Carlos, despite his many tenths, found out because his wife’s brother called them on the phone: “It was an explosion of joy”. Last year he earned 120 euros on every tenth he owned, and he would have been happy to repeat the same figure.
“The stars were with us”
He number 79432 who in a few minutes marked his life will soon be etched forever on the skin of Pablo, who ensured that “I’m going to get it tattooed.”. Moreover, Gordo arrives three months later asking his girlfriend to marry himhe therefore considers that “the stars were with us”. Carlos, for his part, still doesn’t know what the money will be used for: “Fortunately, there aren’t many gaps to fill, but it will help us pay off some of the shelter’s debts more quickly.”
After the first moments of disbelief and overflowing joy, Pablo begins his work day and opens the bar he runs in Miraflores, the brasserie Le tap 41008. “The Fat One hit me, but I keep working.” Then there will be a party. Because life goes on, but with joys like this, it is faced differently even if it is at work. The rest of us, as they always say, still have our health, which is no small thing.
