Everything indicates that Apple is preparing to launch a new generation of Apple TV in 2026according to versions leaked by the MacRumors portal.
The device would feature the A17 Pro chip, which will be unveiled alongside the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max in 2023. Although this processor does not represent the company’s latest technology, it is still one of the most powerful in the Apple ecosystem and is compatible with Apple Intelligence, its artificial intelligence platform.
Among the new features, a renewed Siri stands out, which promises to optimize the user experience as well as support for video games.
The third generation Apple TV 4K was introduced in 2022. Throughout 2025, there have been several rumors about a possible replacement at various Apple events. None of these announcements were implemented.

The next Apple TV could see the light of day in 2026. Various rumors suggest that the company would present this new generation four years after the launch of the third generation Apple TV 4K, which was launched in 2022.
The next Apple TV could feature advances in hardware and software. One of the highlights would be the integration of the A17 Pro chipreleased in 2023 alongside the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
While this processor isn’t the company’s newest, it’s still one of the most powerful in the Apple ecosystem, which would represent a significant jump over previous generations of Apple TV.

The introduction of the A17 Pro would enable the device to handle demanding tasks more smoothly, improve the streaming experience and open the possibility of running AAA video games natively.
This capacity would represent a change compared to other streaming deviceswhich are mostly limited to casual titles or rely on cloud services.
Compatibility with big budget games like those seen on the iPhone 15 Pro would position the future Apple TV as an alternative for gaming fans.

Support for physical controllers would also be strengthened. With tvOS 26, Apple expanded support for controllers like the PlayStation 5 DualSense and Xbox Wireless controllers, which would make it easier to introduce more complex titles if developers decide to expand the catalog beyond Apple Arcade.
Another central axis would be the integration of Apple Intelligence, the artificial intelligence platform presented by Apple at WWDC 2024. Thanks to the A17 Pro, the new Apple TV has advanced AI features that were not possible in previous models.
In addition, it would include a renewed version of Siri aimed at improving interaction and personalization for users.

The third-generation Apple TV 4K (Wi-Fi + Ethernet) and Wi-Fi-only models feature the A5 processor that supports streaming, apps and games.
Both devices play videos in 4K and are compatible with HDR10+, Dolby Vision and standard HDR. In addition, they support Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio and other formats.

As for connectivity, they have WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. The Ethernet model offers a Gigabit port and thread support for smart home devices. Both models feature HDMI 2.1 for 4K video output at 60 fps.
Storage ranges from 64GB (WiFi only) to 128GB (WiFi + Ethernet). The third-generation Siri Remote, present on both devices, enables USB-C charging, infrared control and Bluetooth connectivity.
Integration into the Apple ecosystem enables automatic color calibration with iPhone or iPad and the use of these devices as a remote control. The models are compatible with streaming applications such as Netflix, Disney+ and Apple TV+ as well as games available in the App Store.
