The initiative connects manufacturers, applications and charging infrastructure and, by 2030, aims to include 300,000 electrified vehicles in the 99-vehicle fleet.
Over the past three years, the share of electrified vehicles in sales has increased from almost zero to almost 5% to reach the current 10%according to Anfavea, an association which brings together automobile manufacturers. During the same period, the Alliance for Sustainable Mobility highlights that it contributed to 37% of the current fleet of vehicles with new propulsion technologies, which totals almost 600 thousand vehicles, including cars and motorcycles.
Data from the Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association (ABVE) published by the organization indicates that the total reaches 210,000 units. The entity also states that it is responsible for the installation of 5,000 of the 16,000 charging stations in the country.
The movement already brings together 32 companies
The Alliance brings together automakers, rental companies, financial companies, transportation apps, charging companies, among other links in this ecosystem. On Thursday 4, nine companies joined the initiative: GAC, Kinto, BR22, Seteloc, Riba Bike, Bebike, Bliv, Serttel, GoMoov. This means that there are 32 member organizations.
The project encourages the adoption of vehicles with new technologies by application drivers and motorcyclists, a front that, according to the institution, would have the greatest financial benefit with the adoption of these solutions and would generate the greatest environmental gain.
The movement was inaugurated in 2022 with the aim of promoting the expansion of electrified vehicles in the country. In three years of operation, the initiative has totaled 410 million reais in investments. The Alliance’s calculation is that the vehicles in circulation guaranteed a reduction of 31.2 thousand tons of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
300,000 additional electrified vehicles by 2030
As a strategy for the coming years, the Alliance for Sustainable Mobility announces the goal of reaching 60,000 charging stations throughout Brazil. Another objective is for 99 to adopt more than 300,000 electrified cars and motorcycles in the different categories of services offered on the platform.
