Barcelona tried to impose their rhythm at the Camp Nou, with plenty of ball possession and attacking presence, but Eintracht Frankfurt went into the break with an advantage. The German team took advantage of a quick counterattack in the 21st minute, when Brown started through the middle and unleashed Knauff at high speed to calmly finish and open the scoring.
Even when pressing, Barça faced firm marking and good defending from Zetterer, who stopped Gerard Martín’s shots and avoided threats from Raphinha and Lewandowski.
The reaction was not long in coming: on five occasions, Koudé headed the ball into the back of the net. A few minutes later, the same person returns the situation. Yamal got up and number 23 appeared alone again, with a header: 2 x 1. The match had a few chances for both teams, but the score did not change until the final whistle.
Barcelona are having contrasting campaigns in the Spanish Championship and the Champions League. While the team coached by Hansi Flick has won the last six La Liga matches and taken the lead.
In 14th place in the continental competition, Barça lost 3-0 to Chelsea in the last round of the Champions League and drew 3-3 in the previous round against Club Brugge. On the other hand, the Germans occupy 30th place in the ranking, with four points.
