In a statement to the Civil Police of the Federal District (PCDF) after the attacks recorded in the Chamber of Deputies, Tuesday evening (12/9), federal deputy Célia Xakriabá (PSol-MG) said that she had been dragged by agents of the Federal Legislative Police (PLF). She fell and sprained her foot in the middle of the commotion.
Célia Xakriabá reported that when she arrived at the plenary and intended to register to speak, the TV Câmara broadcast was cut off. According to her, at that time, President Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB) had already ordered the forcible dismissal of deputy Glauber Braga (PSol-RJ), who occupied the presidential chair as a sign of protest.
When the unrest began, Célia heard some police officers say that two police officers would be asked to exclude her and her colleague Sâmia Bomfim (PSol-SP) from the plenary. The withdrawal, however, was allegedly carried out by male police officers.
According to the parliamentarian, the agents used physical force to immobilize him on several occasions. She says she was dragged several times and officers held her arms.
Célia even fell and hit her back against the president’s table and, at that moment, sprained her foot. By then, she had already lost her shoes and her headdress. The MP underwent a CT scan at the House medical department before going to the PCDF to observe the incident.
The incident was recorded at the 5th Police Station, located in the central area of Brasilia.

The case
Footage from the plenary shows legislative police removing Glauber Braga, who is showing resistance. Around him, deputies protest, while others film the situation. In a statement to the PCDF, the MP indicated that his right arm was injured and his jacket was torn during his expulsion. He, as well as Célia Xakriabá and Sâmia Bomfim, were subject to criminal examination.
Glauber occupied the board of directors on Tuesday to protest Motta’s decision to vote on the psoloist’s dismissal procedure. The situation occurred before the session that was to vote on the PL Dosimetria, which reduces the sentence of Bolsonaro and others convicted of attempted coup d’état. The project was approved in the early hours of this Wednesday (10/12).
Glauber Braga is accused of violating parliamentary decorum by expelling Free Brazil Movement (MBL) activist Gabriel Costenaro from the House in April 2024. This Tuesday, Motta proposed the revocation of the parliamentarian’s mandate for Wednesday’s plenary session (12/10).
