A video circulating on social media shows the moment a young woman confronts an attacker armed with a knife, alone in Colombia, while her companion retreats and hides behind a wall. The images, recorded on Saturday (6), by a security camera and broadcast by the NewsFlash agency, show the couple chatting at the entrance to a bank or a currency exchange office as the criminal approaches.

The attacker attempts to cut the tourist’s backpack, who reacts by scratching and pushing the attacker. During the attack, the man accompanying him leaned over, walked away towards the sidewalk and did not intervene, despite observing the scene for around fifteen seconds. At one point, another person tries to help her, but gives up, leaving the young woman to continue trying to defend herself.
The situation changes when a motorcyclist appears and hits the suspect with a helmet. Shortly after, three other pedestrians joined in and stopped the attacker, knocking him down and preventing him from continuing. Despite everything, the companion remains aside and does not participate in the action, even if the group has already dominated the aggressor.
Once the confrontation was over, the boy returned and approached the young woman, apparently to console her, an attitude which increased the impact of the affair. Few details about the episode have been confirmed, including the exact location and the relationship between the two travelers, who appear to be chatting at the start of the video.
