in the 2nd round, Lula would beat Flávio Bolsonaro by 15 points

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) would beat Senator Flávia Bolsonaro (PL) in the race for the presidency of the Republic if the 2nd round took place today, shows a Datafolha survey published this Saturday (6). The PT deputy appears with 51% of voting intentions, against 36% for the son of the former president.

The institute surveyed 2,002 voters between Tuesday (2) and Thursday (4), that is, before Flávio announced his precandidacy with the support of Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The survey was carried out in 113 municipalities, among people over 16 years old, and has a margin of error of plus or minus two percentage points.

Flavio announced his pre-candidacy for Planalto this Friday, after receiving his father’s blessing. His candidacy did not please certain sectors of the Centrão, who sought to create a union around the name of Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).

The Datafolha survey shows that Tarcísio would do better in a possible runoff against Lula, if the elections were held today, but he would still lose. In a scenario of conflict between Lula and Tarcísio, 47% of respondents answered that they would vote for the PT member, and 42%, for the governor of São Paulo, and 10% would vote null or blank and 2% would not know how to answer.

In the confrontation between Lula and Michelle Bolsonaro (PL), the current president was the preference of 50% of those surveyed by the institute, while 39% responded that they would vote for the former first lady, 10% would vote void or blank and 1% did not know how to answer.

In the scenario that tests the name of Bolsonaro’s other son, federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), who is abroad, Lula’s advantage is greater: he appears with 52% of voting intentions, against 35% for the parliamentarian, while 12% would vote blank and 1% do not know.

Another governor tipped to represent the right in the elections is Ratinho Júnior (PSD), from Paraná. In a possible second round, Lula would beat Ratinho by 47% to 41%.

If the dispute was between Lula and Jair Bolsonaro, even if he is ineligible and cannot run next year, the PT member would also do better. For 49% of those questioned, Lula would be the voting option, compared to 40%. who would vote for Bolsonaro.
