The leader José Andréspopular throughout the planet for his humanitarian work with the NGO World Central Kitchen, visited this week the different areas affected by the damage of October 29, 2024 in Valencia, from where he filed a complaint against … the “slowness” of the central government and the Generalitat Valenciana in confronting and carrying out the necessary work so that a tragedy of this magnitude does not happen again.
In a video published on his social networks, the prestigious leader expressed surprise at the delay of the two public administrations in activating plans and aid to repair the Poyo ravine, which, in his opinion, should be “national priority”because such a disaster “could happen again” and the lack of urgency that people perceive is “inexplicable” in the villages of South Horta.
In the aforementioned images, José Andrés is seen walking through the streets of Paiporta, where he celebrates the reopening of many businesses, but emphasizes that there is still “a lot to do.” Therefore, filing a complaint against “everything is going very slowly” and holds the Ministry of Ecological Transition responsible for “everything that depends on the Executive”, because “this must be treated as the emergency that it is in terms of work authorizations, calls for tenders, projects and plans”.
The Spanish leader insisted on the need for action in the Poyo ravine, the overflowing of which caused the vast majority of the 230 reported deaths. According to him, against “projects which have not even started”, this should be “the most important work in Spain with machines from top to bottom so that damage doesn’t happen again if we can avoid it.
But it doesn’t stop there: “It would take hundreds, if not thousands, of people working to get this work done.” as if they were the pyramids of Egypt. “Our leaders, I don’t know what they expect to work together on behalf of the people.”
The days after the dana, Central cuisine of the world landed in Valencia and different affected areas to feed affected neighbors, as it has done in other tragedies across the planet in recent years.
