After requesting a joint meeting to conclude this year’s negotiations and informing the province that payment of the bonus should be made within the usual timescales, unions are still waiting for a call to resume talks.
When the trade union organizations suggested resuming dialogue to agree on a new salary increase, the answer was to wait for the adoption of the 2026 budget and the financing law. Axel Kicillof’s management finally managed to get the Buenos Aires legislature to approve both initiatives, especially the one that envisages a debt renegotiation. However, so far there has been no call to restart negotiations.
This was confirmed by one of the unions. “We know the situation was complex,” they said, although they hope they will be asked to close the joint venture by 2025, which will allow salaries to improve.
Some believe the province may not grant an increase in this latter part of the year to ensure payment of the bonus, which typically occurs between December 18th and 20th.
This would meet part of the demand formulated by some unions for payment within the usual deadlines. Although the request to finalize exactly one salary improvement would still be pending.
