The Anísio Teixeira National Institute of Educational Studies and Research (Inep) will test artificial intelligence (AI) tools to reduce the number of humans involved in the formulation of the national secondary school exam (Enem). The information was revealed by the president of the organization, Manoel Palacios, in an interview with g1.
— Today, to carry out a pre-test of questions, we need 15 thousand real students. The main challenge is maintaining the confidentiality of the documents, Palacios said. — We will experiment with already developed systems in which AI simulates the response of strong, average and weak students.
According to the president of Inep, the intention is that there will also be a team of judges to “align the machines and ensure that the calibration process is very precise”.
— This seems to be the most productive route.
This year’s edition of the test was marked by the early release of questions. There were 8 questions from the main application and 4 from the Grande Belém edition only in the areas of mathematics and natural sciences. The questions had already appeared in lives, documents and Whatsapp groups, with fundamentally identical numbers and alternatives.
