The 2025 edition of the Brazilian Championship ended on Sunday afternoon (7). With the title secured by Flamengo one round in advance, the final round involved the definition of places in international competitions and relegation to the second division.
It was a difficult day for fans of rivals Fortaleza and Ceará, who will play in the domestic Serie B in 2026. These teams joined Juventude and Sport, who played their final matches of the season without any mathematical chance of remaining in the elite.
Internacional had the necessary combination for a salvation considered improbable. They beat Bragantino in Beira-Rio, in Porto Alegre, and overtook Fortaleza and Ceará, who lost to Botafogo and Palmeiras respectively.
At the top, Fluminense comes in fifth place. In this way, they achieved a direct place in the group stage of the next Copa Libertadores, something that the top four teams, Flamengo, Palmeiras, Cruzeiro and Mirassol, had already achieved.
Botafogo and Bahia, sixth and seventh respectively, will be in the preliminary phase of the Libertadores. And São Paulo, who finished eighth, will depend on the results of the Copa do Brasil on whether they will be in the pre-Libertadores or the South America – they will back Cruzeiro or Fluminense to win the title.
