“All of the measures adopted have an impact on the gradual increase in the resolution capacity of international protection files of the Ministry of the Interior, since at the end of this year 2025, it should reach the historic maximum of international protection resolutions issued in one year. Thus, with a cumulative total of 116,567 resolutions so far in 2025have been exceeded to date, those achieved in 2024″, adds the Fernando Grande-Marlaska region.
Palestinian refugees
The BNG MP also requested information on the number of Palestinians formalizing this request. “Palestine recognition rates are significantly higher than the average obtained each year compared to the overall calculation of all nationalities,” they added in their response.
Concretely, in 2024, the rate of recognition of international protection obtained for the Palestinian population was one 89.885%compared to 18.52% which was the average. This year, 1,178 asylum applications for this nationality have been submitted, according to figures as of September 30.
However, the Interior does not give an answer concerning the deadlines for resolving refugee files because “It is not closed or concrete data”. And each case is analyzed individually and is subject to strong variations such as nationality. There are also specific circumstances that require additional interviews.
