There are bands that do not feel the passing of time and remain more relevant than ever on the Olympus of global recognition. This is the case Iron Maidenthe legendary heavy metal band founded by the bassist in 1975 Steve Harris that despite the years, they continue to bring their music to all corners of the planet.
In December 2024 they visited Argentina for the last time, with performances at the Movistar Arena and Huracán Stadium, powered by their “The Future Past World Tour”, both of which were sold out.
Well, according to a post on the band’s official Instagram account featuring the flags of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Ecuador and asking “Are you ready?” They confirmed today – also from their official website – the South American leg of their Run For Your Lives tour.
And of course Buenos Aires is in this destination.
The tour, which includes Anthrax as a guest band, begins on October 2nd in Mexico City, from there it goes to Monterrey on the 5th and San José on the 8th (this is not clarified, but everything points to Costa Rica). On October 11th they play in Bogotá and on the 15th in Lima.
Then the Brazilian leg of the tour begins with three confirmed dates: October 18th in São Paulo, October 20th in Rio de Janeiro and October 23rd in Porto Alegre.
Without yet specifying the stadium or arena where they will perform, Iron Maiden announced October 26th for Argentina.
They will then end their journey through South America on October 29th in Santiago, Chile.
In 2024, when the band announced their December 1 performance at the Huracán, tickets sold out within minutes, forcing them to schedule a concert the next day at the Movistar Arena, which was also sold out.
Considering that there are three days between the announced date of October 26th in Buenos Aires – and the Argentinian audience’s passion for Iron Maiden – and the one in Chile, it is fair to assume that the Iron Lady should offer one more show in Buenos Aires.
There is a fundamental axis that is not negotiated in the tacit pact of loyalty that exists after so many years between Iron Maiden and its audience, and it is the mutual demand of both parties. This means the group will do its best, but will never deliver food on a tray and into the mouths of its followers.
After a dozen shows in Argentina, it doesn’t sound at all far-fetched to equate Iron Maiden with the Ramones or the Rolling Stones in terms of a Creole locale.
Leaving Huracán Stadium with a crowd mostly wearing t-shirts with various stages of Eddie depicting different moments in the group’s career is a testament to this. And everyone with a big smile on their face, whether musicians or visitors. And the next day, at the Movistar Arena, things went the same way.
When The Iron Lady announced their Run For Your Lives World Tour, it was revealed that the European leg would begin in Hungary in May 2025 and be extended by a year. Now they confirmed that they will delight the Argentine metal audience once again.
