Madrid, December 5 (European Press) –
Today, Friday, the Israeli army announced the end of the “Five Stones” operation, which it began ten days ago in the northern West Bank as part of its escalation of incursions in recent months, which would have led to the killing of six “terrorists” and the seizure of funds allegedly intended for “financing terrorism.”
“Operation ‘Five Stones’ in northern Samaria – the biblical name for the northern part of the West Bank – has ended,” he said, before highlighting that the army “eliminated six terrorists, arrested dozens of wanted persons and interrogated dozens of additional suspects.”
He added that “hundreds of thousands of shekels allocated to finance terrorist acts were seized, along with dozens of weapons, including pistols, rifles, assault rifles, ammunition and knives” during the operation, which included “more than 30 bombings.”
The army also stressed that the homes of “two terrorists” were destroyed during the operations, and added that they sought to “preserve the freedom of action of the IDF and prevent terrorism from taking hold in the area.”
The United Nations recently reported that more than a thousand Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank at the hands of extremist soldiers or settlers since October 7, 2023, the date of attacks launched by the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and other Palestinian factions against Israel, although in the nine months leading up to 7-0 the highest number of Palestinian deaths in the West Bank since the Second Intifada, two decades ago, was recorded.
