For those who don’t know, Vampire in Brooklyn (in the original) was released in mid-1995 and tells the story of Maximillian, a vampire who travels from the Caribbean to New York to look for a bride. In the Big Apple, he meets the beautiful detective Rita, who he believes is descended from a powerful order of leeches. So, Maximillian uses his powers to conquer the woman.
THE FAULT OF THE WIG?
In a 2011 interview with the American magazine Rolling Stone, Murphy admitted that A Vampire in Brooklyn was not a good feature film, responsible for poor reviews and a disappointing box office. According to the actor, he only took the job for contractual reasons and argued that the real reason for his setback was the ridiculous long-haired wig he had to wear.
“The only way for me to do The Hazel Professor and getting rid of my contract with Paramount was to make A Vampire in Brooklyn.”he started counting. “But you know what ruined that movie? The wig.
