Evil exists and in these times it manifests itself with insolence. Look at what is happening in Badalona, where, as I write this, everything indicates that dozens of African immigrants will spend a freezing Christmas Eve under a highway bridge. Our cities are shining these days with their Christmas bulbs and many homes and public places display nativity scenes where a Jewish child spends his first hours of life in the manger of a stable. But few make a connection between what they celebrate today with joy and waste and what is happening in Badalona and in many other places on the planet, including Gaza, not far from the scenes of the passion of Jesus of Nazareth.
“If Christ existed, he would be a MENA”, we read on the cover of Mongolia magazine for December 2025. It is well said: Jesus was a poor and displaced child, his parents had gone to Bethlehem in accordance with an administrative decision by Caesar Augustus concerning the places of registration of subjects of the empire. All the inns in Bethlehem were full and Mary had to give birth in a nursery. Today I would have to do it under a bridge or at a bank ATM.
