Jorginho predicts Flamengo will be strong again in 2026 and talks about Filipe Luís

One of the main names in Flamengo’s midfield in 2025, midfielder Jorginho is using the holiday period to rest and recharge after an intense season. Experiencing an important moment in his career, the player underlines the need to slow down before starting a new year of great challenges with the red and black jersey.

During the break, Jorginho also had some special moments off the pitch. Amidst the changes and hustle and bustle of the professional routine, the invitation to this period of rest was received with surprise, but also with joy, especially within the family.

“I’m taking a lot of it to recharge my energy. It was really very special. When they invited me, I thought I was going crazy, in the middle of so much change and rush. It’s a very special moment, my mother was very moved and very happy. Everyone. I’m very happy”, said the midfielder, in an interview with “Sportv”, before the “Star Game”.

Jorginho receives the wish of a good vacation and a comeback, with total focus on the search for titles and another season of protagonist at the club. The midfielder turned 34 in December and has a contract with Fla valid until July 2028.

Hired by Flamengo in the middle of the season, after leaving Arsenal, Jorginho arrived to fill the position left by Gerson, negotiated with Zenit (RUS). In fact, he quickly rose to prominence in the red and black midfield. Asked about the continuity of the coach, the midfielder adopted a respectful and confident tone.

“It’s a question for him. I just wished him a good vacation, that he can recharge his energy and that everything goes well for him. 2026 will be a lot of work. Let’s go in search of titles,” said Jorginho, demonstrating his confidence in the project and in the future of Flamengo under the command of Filipe Luís.
