Diagnosis of dementia
Diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (FTD) in 2023, Maurício Kubrusly suffered a heart attack years ago and revealed he needed two stents placed in his heart.
“Well… it happened. 1 heart attack and 2 stents. And live your life, with health and luck, continuing with the same joy,” he said. At the time, he was 71 years old.
He said a few days later that he was fine and reassured his fans. “Can I tell you one thing? In short: I’m in the area. Everything works… So, abuse and use. Let’s move on? I’ll be right back…”, he added.
The former TV Globo reporter will have his life journey depicted in a documentary titled Kubrusly: Mistério Semper Há de Pintar por Aí. The work was produced by the TV Globo journalistic team and will be presented for the first time on November 22, during the São Miguel do Gostoso (RN) Film Festival.
