Land theft, looting, children imprisoned without trial, shooting at point blank range. Palestinians living in the West Bank do not control their land, their waters, or their roads. They also cannot move freely, nor are they equal before the law: settlers are governed by Israeli civil law, and Palestinians by military law, which allows for arrests without charges, military tribunals and almost automatic convictions in the event of confrontation with Jewish settlers who try to expel them from their land.
A law which also fell on Juana Ruiz, Spanish activist living in Palestineimprisoned for terrorism in an Israeli prison for her work in an NGO on the ground, which today returned to Spain and with which we analyze the levels of extreme violence of Israeli apartheid in the West Bank: an entire legal, political and military structure to discriminate against the Palestinian population. Something the documentary tells “Sinuous space”directed by Cristina Mora and Norma Nebot, which shows how in recent years Israel has banned major Palestinian NGOs and persecuted the people who work for them as terrorists.

Furthermore, we know of five accounts of attacks against five boys and girls in the West Bank collected by the journalist specializing in human rights. Patricia Simonwhich puts its voice to the figures: at least 225 Palestinian children and adolescents have been murdered in the West Bank and East Jerusalem by Israeli soldiers since October 7, 2023. If we add Palestinian adults, there are more than 1,000 according to the UN. This work is part of research carried out in collaboration with the NGO Mundubat thanks to a Dev Reporter grant.
