Judge Dana opened a new line of inquiry that points, once again, to the heart of the presidency of the Generalitat during the era of Carlos Mazón.
The investigating judge, in an order issued this Monday, asks the Generalitat Prosecutor’s Office to send her a report indicating whether on October 29, 2024, a tragic day that left 230 dead, senior officials from the departments of the Presidency, the Environment, headed by Vicente Martínez Mus, or Justice and Interior, in the hands of Salomé Pradas, carried out “verbal or written consultations”, as well as the “responses issued”.
“Concretely,” the order states, the Legal Office must report within three days whether the regional secretary of the Presidency at the time, Cayetano García Ramírez (currently assigned to the Treasury under Minister José Antonio Rovira), was summoned to issue “any evaluation, intervention or legal opinion regarding the measures to be adopted” within the framework of the meeting of the Integrated Operational Coordination Center (Cecopi).
This is a procedure requested by the popular accusations carried out by Compromís and Acció Cultural del País Valencià, following the statement of García Ramírez in the commission of inquiry into the dana in Congress and the WhatsApp messages provided by the investigated Salomé Pradas with the orders of Mazón’s chief of staff regarding the possible confinement of the population.
