The Court of Instruction number 19 of Seville has opened an investigation against the union worker who was interviewed as a doctor in the program ‘Mañaneros 360‘TVE to attack Juanma Moreno due to the breast cancer screening crisis … in Andalusia, as ABC was able to confirm with the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA). María del Mar Suárez Rodríguez, as this UGT delegate is called, appeared on camera on October 22. wearing a white coat like that worn by health workers even though she is now an administrator at the university hospital Virgen del Rocío in Seville and for 23 years (1998-2021), she worked as a cook in the same public center.
The trigger for these preliminary procedures was a complaint from the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) against the false doctor understanding that his statements in the aforementioned space of state television “may constitute crimes of revealing secrets, usurpation of functions or, where appropriate, insults and slander with publicity”.
He accuses the SAS of making mammograms “disappear”
On November 5, investigating judge number 19 of Seville issued an order in which she agreed to open preliminary proceedings for a possible revelation of secrets. In addition, sent a letter to the Judicial Police to collect all the information about the freed hospital unionist who, in her interview with La 1, accused those responsible for the Junta de Andalucía agency of having made her “disappear” from IT management and information system for the SAS and the ClicSalud+ application the stories and tests of women affected by screening delays, taking advantage of the speaker of the flagship audience program of the morning slot presented by Javier Ruiz. During the interview, this journalist mentioned it up to three times as a “doctor” and “medical staff”, without the union representative correcting it, even though it is neither. Neither the cooks nor the administrators are.
Far from correcting his mistake, journalist Javier Ruiz attacked ABC for claiming to have interviewed a fake doctor
Far from correcting his error, the day after the ABC published that the SAS had denounced her for pretending to be a doctor, the presenter of the show attacked this newspaper while I interviewed Suárez again, but this time changing the labels to identify them to the public as “hospital staff”. The words “medical” or “health care”, used during his first interview on TVE, had disappeared from his vocabulary.
The UGT delegate corrected the presenter’s “error”
This wasn’t the only plot twist. During her second intervention, the UGT delegate also took off the white coat she wore during her first interview on “Mañaneros 360”. Ruiz questioned him about his position at the SAS hospital so that denied the ABC reports. But instead of denying it, she admitted that she had been working as a kitchen worker at the aforementioned health complex for years. “Sorry, I’ll correct you, I’m just an emergency administrator. of trauma,” Suárez corrected him. “Like I was an intern,” the show host interrupted him.
Suárez added immediately after that “currently, I have been released by the UGT for years, “defend the rights of professionals and defend public health.” In other words, she is neither a medical professional nor a doctor and has worked for most of her professional life as a cook. Javier Ruiz simply said that there was It’s ‘my own mistake’ that he called her up to three times as a doctor investing it with a scientific authority that it did not need to illustrate the management of the screening crisis.
The “Mañaneros” host interviewed her again after the ABC news, but changed the label and quoted her as “hospital staff.”
The presenter assured that the news reported by ABC was a “hoax”, taken up by other media, and linked it to the “retaliations” of the SAS against the trade unionist, and an “offensive” against the victims of screening. He also told all about those affected by the Valencia Dana disaster, in which 237 people lost their lives.
“Now the victims are socialists and hospital workers are kitchen helpers,” he commented on public television before giving the floor to his colleagues to reaffirm his argument. Previously, Ruiz had described “disgusting classism” that the worker is cited as a “cook”, despite the fact that the interviewee he introduced as a doctor worked most of his professional life as such and admitted it on the spot. Ruiz said goodbye to his interlocutor with a “take care of yourself, good mood”, who took the opportunity to invite everyone to join the demonstration of the white tide of health called by groups like his own union.
The prosecution dismantled the alleged erasure of evidence
The so-called suppression of mammograms was a hoax. At the beginning of December, the Seville public prosecutor’s office filed the complaint Association of Women with Breast Cancer of Seville (Amama) on the alleged disappearance of evidence. The prosecutor who investigated the SAS files concluded that there was “neither internal manipulation nor external sabotage”, nor “deletion of data”, but rather that everything was the result of an “avalanche of requests” which “saturated the ‘Citizen Viewer’ module ». Thus, he destroyed the arguments of the association chaired by Ángela Claverol, which channeled this complaint and another previous one for the delays in the diagnosis of women subject to the early detection program for this type of cancer.
The Superior Public Prosecutor’s Office of Andalusia is continuing its investigation into possible control failures. However, the Minister of Health, Antonio Sanzconsidered the crisis resolved after examining the files of the women concerned before November 30, as promised. The Commission has implemented new measures in response to the delays. Starting January 12, 2026, women with suspected breast cancer will receive same-day screening all examinations: diagnostic mammography, ultrasound and biopsy.
