The Ministry of Justice and Public Security (MJSP) warned, this Monday (22/12), Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), who has already sent the request for extradition of the former federal deputy, Alexandre Ramagem (PL-RJ), to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
Ramagem has been in the United States since September this year, after fleeing Brazil. The former parliamentarian was sentenced to 16 years and one month in prison for participation in the putsch plot, for three of the five crimes charged by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR).
Moraes asked the MJSP on December 15 to organize the documentation and follow up on Ramagem’s extradition request. The request, according to the press release sent to the minister, was submitted to the MRE last Wednesday (12/17). It now remains for Itamaraty to formalize the request with the North American authorities.
