Florentino Pérez He once again attacked Spanish refereeing in his speech during the club’s traditional Christmas toast, celebrated each year with the media.
The president of the real Madrid underlined the ‘Negreira affair” and assured that “justice must be done” with what is “the most serious problem in football today”.
“Spanish refereeing is a problem that has transcended our borders and is damaging the credibility and reputation of our competition,” Florentino began by saying after thanking the press for their work.

“What happened in the Negreira case for almost two decades deserves, it is obligatory, that justice be done. Real Madrid is the only club that is fighting. It is incomprehensible that the football institutions have left Real Madrid alone. In the fight, how is it possible that in the criminal case we are the only ones fighting for justice to be done?” he continued.
“How can the president of referees ask us to forget this and turn the page? How are we going to forget the biggest scandal in the history of football. We never will. How is it possible that the Federation and La Liga, which must guarantee integrity, behave in this way?” Florentino Pérez continued hard.
“Today we continue to live in the aftermath of a case which tarnishes the image of our sport and which highlights the need for a radical change in the structures of Spanish arbitration.”
Florentino went further and stressed that they are not the only ones affected: “We are sure that we are not the only club harmed by this affair. It is even possible that some clubs have been relegated because of the ‘Negreira Affair’. This is the decline of our sport. The image of football has been damaged.”
He also spoke about what happened last night against the Alavés and the penalty not granted on Vinicius. He noted that “we play with a referee in the VAR who threatened to take action against our club the day before a final of Cup. It seems that the trigger Rodrygo and Vinicius in recent weeks are not penalties. “This must be the new thing about the referee this season.”
“Don’t forget that the investigating judge in charge of the case called it systemic corruption. Barça’s leaders openly admitted that these payments were made because they suited the club,” concluded the Real Madrid leader.
