The national president of the PSD, Gilberto Kassab, arrives in Brasilia next week to join the party with former governor José Roberto Arruda and launch him as a pre-candidate for the government of the Federal District in 2026.
The affiliation ceremony is scheduled for next Monday (15/12) at the Ulysses Guimarães Congress Center. Besides Kassab, other PSD leaders are expected to participate in the event, such as Senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), the party’s leader in the House, Antonio Brito, and Deputy Domingo Neto (PSD-CE).

Even members of Jair Bolsonaro’s PL, Arruda’s former party, are expected to honor their affiliation. Among them, Senator Izalci Lucas (PL-DF), who announced his support for the former governor.

Izalci was with Arruda to make the support official on Monday (8/12). In this way, the PL senator will probably find himself on the opposite side of his party in the fight for the government of the Federal District.
Today, the trend is for the PL to support the current vice-governor of the DF, Celina Leão, to succeed Ibaneis Rocha (MDB). Former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro (PL) is expected to run for senator.
