Kevin SpaceyHollywood’s most canceled actor will return to the big screen for the first time since his firing House of cards (from Netflix) in 2017 amid allegations of “sexual misconduct.”
The actor, who has appeared in more abuse allegations than films in the last decade, will play the main role Italian comedy series Mini market for the Italian state broadcaster RAI.

As seen in a preview, Spacey sings You have a friend in meby Randy Newman and the Frank Sinatra classic I have you under my skin with the Italian actor Filippo Laganawho plays the Italian young star Manlio Viganò.
According to the synopsis Spacey plays the “artistic conscience.” of Viganò and their relationship is based mainly on arguments, misunderstandings and mutual jokes. The series captures both “the experience of a man who knew how to perform on the world’s most important film and television sets” and “the recklessness of someone who doesn’t realize he has an Oscar winner at his side.”
It appears to be written specifically for Spacey. There are ten episodes and will premiere on the streaming service RaiPlay by RAI out of December 26th.
Spacey, who was acquitted of sexual assault in a British criminal trial of four men in 2023, was recently charged with three additional sexual assault allegations, which he will face in a London civil court next year.
BBCNews reported last month that Spacey formally dismissed two of the three civil lawsuits in court, but has not yet filed a defense for the third.
Last month, Spacey said in an interview with The Telegraph that was “homeless” after the violent collapse of his Hollywood labor disputes. “I live in hotels, I live in Airbnb”said. “I go where there’s work. I literally don’t have a home, that’s what I’m trying to explain… The expenses over the last seven years have been astronomical. I had very little income and everything I spent bankrupted me.”
Italy, on the other hand, has been welcoming the canceled Mr. Spacey for years. The American actor returned to acting in 2021, playing a police officer in an also low-budget drama titled “L’uomo Che Disegnò Dio” (“The Man Who Drawn God”)from the great Italian actor and director Franco Nero.
Also appeared as The devil in the psychological thriller The contractby the Italian director Massimo Paolucci.
Spacey has been accused of sexual misconduct and sexual assault by several men since 2017. One of the most notable allegations is that of the actor Anthony Rappwho claimed Spacey tried to abuse him in 1986 when he was 14 years old. The actor denied all allegations from the start.
A civil jury will be held in New York in 2022 declared him “not guilty” von Rapp’s demands, and in 2023 the time had come acquitted of nine charges of sexual offenses in London submitted by several complainants. Other charges were dropped. Despite the acquittal, Spacey is unable to re-establish himself professionally as he is excluded from the industry and has great difficulty finding work.
