
Kiko Hernández and her husband, Fran Antón, made the decision to leaving Melilla after three years of living over there. Through a press release, the television channel said goodbye to the city and all its inhabitants, to whom it dedicates a few sincere words.
“Melilla, thank you. Thank you for these three intense and wonderful years that They will forever remain in my heart. Thank you to your people, for their closeness, their generosity and their way of welcoming; for making me feel part of this earth from day one,” the presenter writes on his Instagram.
“Here I learned, I grew and I understood the immense richness of all the cultures that coexist and give life to this unique city.. I learned lessons that are not forgotten and experiences that have marked me forever. I will never forget that my daughters spent part of their childhood here, growing, laughing and learning in a wonderful land that will always be part of our history,” he dedicates to them.
“Today Circumstances push us to seek new challenges and new adventuresbut we leave with a soul full of memories, loved ones and gratitude. To all of you who have passed through my life in Melilla: thank you, thank you and a thousand thanks,” he said.
“And to the Popular Party of Melilla: rest assured. They will continue to exercise their dictatorship. I will continue to denounce it from Madrid, because this city and its citizens deserve a much better government. Melilla, it’s not goodbye, it’s see you soon“, ditch.
It wasn’t a good end to the year for the couple. After their premises closed, both began a hunger strike in protest. They then abandoned the strike, although Hernández later reported an assault on one of his employees.
