Russia will receive information on the results of the negotiations held in Florida following the new planned telephone call between the Russian president, Vladimir Putinand his American counterpart, Donald TrumpThe Kremlin spokesperson said on Monday: Dmitry Peskovwho has … added that the conversation would take place “very soon”, according to the Russian agency Sputnik.
Peskov said the Kremlin will be able to assess contacts between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky once “the United States provides information on this.” However, he has for the moment ruled out the possibility of a telephone call between Putin and Zelensky.
Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, Peskov reiterated that kyiv must “withdraw its armed forces beyond the administrative borders of Donbas” to end the fighting. Likewise, he said Moscow agreed with Trump’s assessment that peace in Ukraine “came considerably closer”.
Peskov also assured that there is growing discontent within the European Union, where “more and more leaders want to prolong the conflict”, a position which, in his opinion, could have harmful consequences for the current community authorities in the next elections.

This call was the ninth between Putin and Trump since the start of the US president’s second term. The previous conversation, the longest to date, took place on October 16, when the two leaders discussed the Ukrainian crisis in depth and the Russian president emphasized Moscow’s commitment to a diplomatic solution.
