POSADAS.– In an effective political advertisement and with appropriate staging, Freedom Advances Missions announced that it will support the candidate for head of the legislature proposed by Renewal, the missionary ruling party that has ruled for almost 25 years. That is, a pact was made between libertarians, the power of Javier Mileiand the party of Carlos Rovirathe strong man of the province for decades.
“The presidency corresponds to the political force that prevailed in the elections,” said Adrián Núñez, political director of LLA-Misiones. Núñez is considered a leader close to Eduardo “Lule” Menem.
In his message, Núñez referred to the provincial elections of June 8, in which the list led by Sebastián Macías, the man proposed by Rovira for the presidency of the legislature, won.
Renovation has ruled Misiones for almost 25 years and Rovira is the absolute boss of this space. This decision by LLA-Misiones provokes rejection from opponents, who denounce that there is an agreement between the Casa Rosada and Rovira that should not contest power in the province in 2027.
An unusual staging was carried out for the announcement to communicate such decisions. Núñez gathered the entire force and, flanked by Diego Hartfield and Maura Gruber, the brand new national deputies, and Samantha Steckler, one of the five provincial deputies who will take office for the LLA today, held a press conference at the Hotel Julio César. Everyone wore purple T-shirts and only Núñez, who read a text, spoke.
Núñez sought to make it clear that they remain the largest opposition space in the province. “We are the opposition space to the Renovador Front in Misiones and we are also the opposition to the entire political system of the province that demonstrated against Milei,” he explained.
“This is a Republican principle,” he argued about supporting the ruling party’s candidate. And he explained: “This is evident at the national level, where the LLA was the victorious force in the elections, the presidency of the Chamber of Deputies went to Martín Menem and the first vice-presidency to Unión por la Patria.”
“In this way, we will not propose candidates for the presidency of the chamber, but candidates for the first vice presidency,” he said.
The announcement of LLA-Misiones comes at a time when there is speculation in Misiones about a new pact between the renewal ruling party and the Casa Rosada, which includes full support of the reforms in Congress by the four renewal legislators (the other three will also vote for LLA) and a non-aggression pact in the territory. In Misiones, no one is talking about 2027 for now.
“Deputies Ramón Amarilla and Miguel Núñez do not agree with Rovira,” said a statement from the “Algo Nuevo” room, the only one so far to speak out against supporting the ruling party. For them, as for other personalities, there is a clear pact between the ruling party and the LLA in Misiones.
On November 25, Interior Minister Diego Santilli met for more than two hours with Carlos Rovira, whom he visited immediately after landing at General San Martín airport. Immediately after this interview, “Colo” went to lunch with Passalacqua, who presented him with a long list of requests for funds and works owed by the nation to the province.
“Misiones is here to help and build together,” was the sentence that Rovira distributed along with the photo of the meeting with Santilli, when the Minister of the Interior was already finishing his lunch with Passalacqua at the governor’s residence.
