He new procession script of the Peace and Hope brotherhood, whose design was entirely commissioned by Curro Claros of Malaga, continues its process and now it is the turn of the simpecado.
The brotherhood took advantage of the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception … to announce on paper what this future badge in gold, silver, mesh and rhinestones will look like which hopes to debut on Holy Wednesday 2027. It will be embossed embroidered and have sterling silver hardware.
The cordage will combine silver and gold, and will be enriched with applications of rhinestones, pinjantes and trimmings with two central vases of lilies. The abundant streams of acorns that complete the side and lower perimeter are reminiscent of the works of Juan Martínez Cerrillo.
“Exaltation of the dogma of the Pure and Proper Conception of Mary, it combines embroidery and goldsmithing. It has the shape of a symmetrical banner of two peaks or hood, profusely decorated with architectural and plant elements,” as the company details in the room’s description.
The central panel, which frames the figure of the Virgin, is made of light blue fabrica typical immaculate color that evokes the sky and a clear Marian symbolism, like the current simpecado. This fabric is based on a base of gold meshwhich gives it a particular shine and richness.

A combination of gold and silver: Gold is reserved for elements of greater splendor, while silver is used in the general composition to create a contrast that highlights the light.
The design revolves around the central medallion, surrounded by an ornamental device of baroque style large scrolls and scrolls. The ornamentation is rich in falling fringes and pompoms that simulate rich curtains and light blue rhinestones. The top is finished with a royal crown.
The heart of the simpecado is presided over by a representation of the Immaculate Conception against a background of straight and flamboyant rays, accompanied by inscriptions and flowers, with a great profusion of lilies who proclaim their purity.
The Virgin, inspired by that of the Cathedral Treasury, the work of Camilo Rusconi, will be in sterling silver with a face and hands finished with ivorylike the angels who surround him, who carry musical instruments.
Design of the escort lantern of the Peace Simpecado
THE three cartridges insignia proclaim the immaculate purity of Mary. The top one, under the crown, contains the inscription in Latin “Sine labe concepta” (conceived without sin), foundation of the dogma.
The lower cartridges contain the Marian ejaculations from the “Song of Songs” “Pulchra ut luna” (beautiful as the moon) and “Electa ut sol” (Choose like the sun). In the center appears the Franciscan shieldbecause it is the order of the Capuchin convent and of which the Immaculate Conception is the patroness.
The piece ends with a sterling silver cross and a central aquamarine, with fine decoration of scrolls and rays. As is tradition, the simpecado of Peace will be accompanied by two lanterns in sterling silver. In its upper part, glass predominates, with goldwork applications based on plant elements and scrolls.
The current situation of Peace It was created in 1990 with design by Fray Ricardo de Córdoba and execution by Talleres de San Rafael. In the center there is an Immaculate Conception embroidered in silk which comes from an old chasuble of the Ducal House of Medinaceli.
