The Antigua, Illustrious and Royal Brotherhood of Santa Caridad has once again joined one of the main Christmas solidarity initiatives in Toledo, participating this Saturday in the collection of food and essential products organized by Caritas Diocesana … at the city’s Alcampo hypermarket.
A group of brothers of the Brotherhood, led by their steward of the deceased, Fernando Redondo Benito, actively collaborated in this campaign, which aims too strengthen the supply of food and hygiene products intended for individuals and families in more vulnerable situations during the Christmas period.
The initiative, promoted by Cáritas with the support of volunteers from different groups, brought together basic products such as milk, oil, canned goods and daily necessitiesthanks to the united response of citizens who made their donations throughout the day.
Santa Caridad’s participation in this operation is not an isolated event. The Fraternity thus responds once again to a new call from the Caritas Diocesana of Toledoreaffirming its “charitable and social commitment”, which dates back to its historical origin in the year 1085, and its “vocation of Christian service”, especially at a time when social needs are increasing.
During the day, the brothers collaborated in the reception, classification and organization of collected foodstuffswhile encouraging the establishment’s customers to join a campaign that seeks to transform solidarity into concrete and close help for those who need it most.
